How This Works
KalKarenge is a civic scrutiny tool. Not a court. Not a campaign. A machine that reads public affidavit data and tells you what your representative doesn't want you to know.
Data Source
All data comes from myneta.info (Association for Democratic Reforms), which publishes candidate affidavits filed with the Election Commission of India. These are self-declaredby candidates - we don't make accusations, we surface what they admitted.
Scoring Formula
The KK Risk Score (0-100) blends crime severity with volume. A politician with 2 murder cases ranks higher than one with 50 rioting cases. It is not a legal verdict.
Step 1: IPC Heinousness Score ───────────────────────────────────── Each criminal case → extract IPC sections → take max severity IPC Severity Tiers (1-10 scale): 10 Murder (302), Rape (376), Dacoity+murder 9 Attempt murder (307), Acid attack, Dowry death 8 Kidnapping (363), Robbery (392), Grievous hurt (326) 7 Extortion (384), Fraud (420), Forgery (467-471) 6 Assault (353), Theft (379), Criminal breach of trust 5 Rioting (147-149), Hurt (323), Trespass (447) 4 Intimidation (506), Defamation (500) 3 Public order offenses (143, 186, 283) 2 Election offenses (171F/H), Minor abetment Weighted avg: Σ(severity²) / Σ(severity) Volume mult: min(log(1+cases), 3.5) / 3.5 Heinousness: (weighted_avg/10 × 0.7 + volume × 0.3) × 100 Step 2: Blended KK Risk Score ───────────────────────────────────── If criminal cases exist: Score = heinousness × 0.6 + original_risk × 0.4 Else: Score = original_risk (asset/flag based) Tiers: Critical ≥75 · High ≥50 · Moderate ≥25 · Low <25

Legal Disclaimer
KalKarenge is a civic information tool, not a legal judgment system. All data is sourced from publicly available election affidavits filed with the Election Commission of India and published by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) through myneta.info.
Risk scores and stamps are algorithmic pattern matches on self-declared data. They do not constitute accusations, verdicts, or legal opinions. "Pending" cases are exactly that - pending, not proven. A high risk score does not mean a politician is guilty of any crime.
If you believe any data is incorrect, please contact us with the specific candidate's myneta.info profile URL and we will verify against the source.
